About The Author (Jack). The one who really likes movies (that Jack).

Hi! I’m Jack, and if you haven’t read literally any piece of text on this website yet, let me tell you that I really, really like movies. I’ve been taking film classes since I was 15, and I’m, well, older than that now. I’ve written many film reviews for my college publication, some of which you can find in the review section. I’ve studied the craft of moviemaking as solely a consumer, but one day I hope to become more involved in the industry than I currently am (0% to 1% would be a nice jump). I’ve always found that movies are the most interesting art form of our time, and predictably, the most popular. They connect people. They fill people with joy and pain alike. They are flawed. They are big, small, quiet, and loud. They encapsulate almost every other art form like that hunky-looking Vegas Sphere. Music. Drawing. Dancing. Painting. Design. Fashion. Architecture. Name a creative endeavor, and you can probably relate it to film. In fact, it’s probably important to film, if not essential. Our fucked-up world has never been expressed through a more beautiful medium.

The purpose of this website is to give myself a place where I can express my love for this art form, as well as self-publish some of the writing that I have been working on. I am not looking for your money (though if by some minor miracle people actually see this, who knows). I am not expecting your agreement either, as some of my takes are quite poor. I won’t claim to have seen every film, and I don’t believe that being an intense fan of movies should be a pretentious hobby. I also don’t want to glorify an industry that is certainly flawed, to say the least. What I want is to offer my perspective, and continue to extract joy in writing about and watching movies. Stay for an article or two. Maybe send one to a friend. It’s okay if you don’t, I know you’re really busy right now. I’m just happy you’ve read this far. And, if this is as far as your interest goes, I would love to leave you with this thought:

Art is capable of changing the world. And lord knows the world could use some updates right now. So find your creative passion, and love it unconditionally. Because that’s how you show who you are, and who you hope for us to be. ‍ ‍

Bye!
